Synthetic Seeds

Why did we ever get to a situation where seeds aren't simply produced from previous crops?   Because the pharmaceutical companies saw a way to make profits from being the sole providers.  Constant meddling is now the norm.  BioTechtopia insists on finding ways to change things 'for the better'.  The trouble is they have forced many farmers in 3rd world countries to buy only GMO seeds.  Yet the seeds still aren't perfect enough; they must be sprayed with pesticides developed from WW2 warfare.  Now in 2023 we are reading that all foods must be infused with mRNA!
